With the not so good weather forcast for wednesday we went to the Louvre in the ‘early’ morning.
Louvre
I don’t see a point in taking pictures of pictures, when I can get them in a decent quality from the museums guide so not many pictures were taken.
It’s kinda a misunderstanding from my point expecting english desciption of the pictures on the legends as well, as I’ll have to assume that the Louvre wants everybody to run around with those silly headphones to listen to the electronic guide in their native language for 6 euros. It’s not really expensive but I though I could do it old school style just admiring the works of our past and ‘reading’ about it. Next time I’ll know better .
We spent about 6hours in the Louvre itself, the Mona Lisa is impressing more so due to the crowd of people in front of it more busy taking pictures ranging from mobilephones ranging to full size digital cameras with exchangeable lenses than really looking at the Mona Lisa itself. Somewhat disturbing also – even more in churches but none the less somewhat annoying – the ignorance or the incompetence of the people to turn of their flash on what ever device they are taking pictures with in of ‘em both.
So leaving the Louvre we turned our aim for the
Notre Dame
After that tired and exhausted and (according to my pokewalker ) exactly 21.900 steps later we went home.
So, my gf and I got to Paris for a good week, Monday at 6am hitting the streets and arriving 18:00 at our Hotel.
Monday
Parking the car outside the hotel and getting the keycard for the parking garage and …. nothing.
Car didn’t start anymore. Good I’m ADAC Plus since June again. One hour later, the battery is down, for what ever reason, not only down but likely broken as well. I get it charged up to move the car to the parking lot but the suggestion is getting a new battery because, if the car goes off it will stay off.
Anyway, apart from that we arrived well and had a lovely walk through Montparnasse. From the Avenue du Maine to the Rue de la Gaité, where we had some delicious Crêpes, and a little bit around to the Boulevard Montparnasse.

We also passed Place Vendôme and several other smaller and bigger stuff on our way to Ste. Marie Madeleine which was our end of our first day tour. 19:00 we were back at the hotel exhausted but content nonetheless.
